My path to becoming an Educational Psychologist hasn’t been a straight line—and I believe that’s an important part of what makes this work so meaningful to me.
I began with a Bachelor’s degree majoring in English and Psychology, with the intention of one day becoming a psychologist, possibly while teaching. Life took me in a different direction at first: I pursued further studies in Brand Leadership at Vega School and spent close to a decade working in the advertising industry across Durban, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.
Although it was a dynamic and exciting field, over time I felt a lack of personal fulfilment. I knew I wanted to make a more direct and lasting impact in people’s lives—especially in the lives of children and families. This led me to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), and I spent the next four years working as a teacher while also completing my Honours in Psychology.
Eventually, my journey brought me to Stellenbosch University, where I completed my Master’s degree in Educational Psychology.
I share this background because I believe that career paths—and life paths—are rarely linear. Each stage of my professional journey has shaped the way I work, connect, and support the young people and families I now have the privilege to work with.
Committed to supporting students, families, and educators by offering research-driven interventions and personalised guidance, I specialise in conducting psycho-educational assessments, developing individualised support plans, and leading therapeutic sessions to address a wide range of academic, emotional, and social challenges.
With a deep understanding of psychological principles, I work to create inclusive spaces where all learners can flourish. My passion is rooted in nurturing resilience, advocating for mental well-being, and promoting a holistic approach to growth in a caring and empathetic environment.
I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and supportive space where children feel seen and heard, and where parents feel empowered and informed. I value curiosity, compassion, and individualised care—and I’m deeply committed to helping each child navigate their unique challenges and thrive in their own way.
